I would first like to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share the wonderful gift of salvation and for your attention to the things of God. The fact that you want more information tells me that you are being led by God to the truth so I am going to put it as plain and straight as God will allow me.

1. You have to realize and acknowledge who establishes right and wrong. God is the only one that has the authority to say what is right or wrong. He has given us His Word, the Bible, to explain this to us, ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

2. You must realize that when we do things that God says is wrong, it is called sin. Sin separates you from God. God created Adam and Eve in a perfect spiritual condition. When Adam and Eve sinned, a sinful nature took root in their hearts and they have passed that on to all of mankind. When we sin, we miss the mark of where God wants us to be, (Romans 3:23).

3. There is a penalty to be paid for sin. God is a Holy God. A loving God. He is also a just God that cannot be in the presence of sin. The Bible tells us in Romans 6:23, that the wages or payment for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. God required a perfect blood sacrifice as payment for our sin. God has prepared a place for those who choose not to follow him. That place is called Hell. It is best described as eternal death. A place of torment, darkness and separation from God and others. (Revelation 21:8) All humans will die physically but they do not have to stay dead spiritually.

4. Jesus Christ paid the entire price for your sin by dying on the cross. (1 Corinthians 15:3) Jesus was the only perfect sacrifice and therefore faith and trust in what he did is the only way to heaven. In John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life, no man can come to the Father but through me. We deserve to die the way Christ did, but He loved us so much that he took upon himself the sin of the world and died so that you can have a restored relationship with Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21) There is no other god and there is no amount of good deeds we can do to pay for that sin. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."

Grace can be explained as "God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense," or undeserved favor. We don’t deserve what Christ did for us on Calvary, but thank God He loved us to sacrifice himself for us. God offers you this free gift. It is up to the individual to accept it. He does not force anyone to receive it.

5. Lastly, Romans 10:9-10 says it all, " That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe (trust ) in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." One key word with this verse is the word Lord. You must believe what Christ did, but you must also submit yourself to His authority in your life. What he says in his word is what you desire to obey and follow, letting him rule and reign in your life. The Bible says in James 5:20
"..that faith without works is dead". When we let him rule and reign on the throne of our heart, our desire will be to
serve and glorify our precious Lord and Savior and good deeds will be the result.

Salvation is for anyone. The murderer, the thief, the immoral, the one who does many good deeds. In Romans 10:13 it says that, "For whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." Salvation is not for the good people or the bad people, but for all. The best example of this is the Apostle Paul. Before he was a Christian, he was part of the crowd that persecuted Christians, and even was an overseer of some of their deaths. A true enemy of Christ, and when he trusted in Christ as his savior he become the best missionary the world has ever seen, starting many churches. A lot of people have the wrong idea that they have done too many bad things to come to Christ. Christ came to seek and save that which was lost, not that which was already found or good. We are all sinners and placing our faith and trust in Christ is the only way to start a new life of peace with God. Once you do that, the Bible says that our sins are forgiven and forgotten in God’s sea of grace and mercy.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principlalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have preeminence. Colossians 1:16-18
